Importance of honest communication with the children.

I believe parents should maintain a cordial and healthy relationship with their children. As it is, children are very fragile beings both inside and out. They get hurt easily even by a mere joke. 

Children love the feeling of someone caring for them, loving them, and making them feel important. They are extremely prone to betrayal and negligence. They are always elated at the sight of someone caring for them or maintaining a cordial relationship with them and they find the person easy to communicate and vibe with. They always love it when people listen and pay attention to them. 

It is essential to develop a mutual relationship with the children as the parents are the first set of people that a kid would want to communicate with before friends or teachers in school and others. 

Communication skills are important in the development of a child for the following reasons: 

It Enhances Emotional Literacy.

Frustration and exasperation set in when children are unable to express their feelings at any given time. If children can match their emotions to words and express them clearly to adults, they will be more likely to resolve their problems through discussion. When children feel comfortable with what they have been doing and with whom they associate and communicate with, it will encourage them to tell you about the details of their life when they’re older.  

It Helps To Prevent Behavioral Disorders.

Kids with communication problems may develop behavioral disorders like low self-esteem, social withdrawal, depression, and anxiety disorders. They might develop trouble communicating with others. Proper and honest communication between the parents and the children might help prevent these behavioral disorders.

It Boosts the Child’s Social IQ. 

Honest communication between the parent and the child may boost the child’s social IQ by helping him build a sound and healthy relationships during their interactions with other people within and outside their circle. 

It Improves the Child’s Verbal Competency.

Communicating with the child frequently if not regularly will ensure that they improve their sentence structures, if children regularly express their views and opinions to their parents, this can translate to a better ability to present their ideas in a classroom setting and the outside world at large. 

To Keep Track Of the Child’s Development.

The competences and workload of children will change as they move through different key stages of their lives. Interacting with children through their school projects, home works, and examination results will give the parents information and make them have a good idea of how their children are progressing and keeping up.

Parents who communicate with their kids at all times may be able to help them develop sound communication skills easily. Good communication skills will ensure improved academic performances, provide the children with comfort in social situations, and also prepare them for challenges later in their careers. 

Also, a child who is good at communicating verbally will find it rather easy to produce written communications and thus will likely perform better in their written assignments and school examinations.
