3 Signs that shows you have inferiority complex.
It is practically normal to feel down about yourself sometimes and it is also alright to feel that you are not doing well yourself at any point or your best doesn’t seem enough and you feel that other people are doing better than you but if this feeling is getting too much and clouding your thinking or it has become harmful to your mental health and others around you then you may have an inferiority complex.
Based on my research, I discovered that inferiority complex comes from the founder of individual psychology, Alfred Adler who believed that we are all born with some amount of inferiority and that we all have inborn drive to overcome this sense of inferiority.
Inferiority complex is associated generally with the feeling of insecurity and intense feeling of not belonging or being less than others. Inferiority complex can come from a person’s experience whether childhood or adulthood which affects your behavior or thoughts. Majority don’t believe that they have inferiority complex until someone tells them.
So in this article, I will be stating the few signs that will show that you have inferiority complex.
- You are a perfectionist.
No one is perfect and everything you do should not necessarily be perfect. Everyone has their flaws and it is honestly not a sin to display your flaws once in a while, be it intentionally or accidentally.
One of the signs of inferiority complex is when an individual constantly attempts perfection in everything they do ranging from the style of laughing, talking, walking, dressing and even eating. They will always be afraid of people finding out where they lack or what they are not good at. They will always want to be good in everything and always unable to easily accept that they are not good at something.
If you notice the exhibition of this act or someone tells you that you possess this attitude, then it is definitely a sign of inferiority complex.
- You always seem to find fault in others.
Another sign of inferiority complex is when an individual find faults in everything others do and always acknowledge that they can do it better than them if ever in their place.
They always believe everything others do is practically wrong until they do it will it be proved right. They always believe that they are always right in any given situation. Other people may see it as being egoistic or proud but as a matter of fact, it is actually a sign of inferiority complex.
- You are actively sensitive to criticism.
People with inferiority complex are highly sensitive to criticism. They tend to always be at high alert about things that people think or say about them.
They don’t take jokes lightly or respectfully and tend to be aggressive to prevent others from teasing them as they take it as a sign of ridicule to their being.
At the end of the day, everyone has their weaknesses and strengths. There is no reason why anyone should feel like they are less than anyone else.
